From 1959 comes Andre Kostelanetz’s first Christmas album. This is real orchestral Christmas music with chorus, featuring baritone Earl Wrightson, similar along the lines of Percy Faith. If you are more familiar with his later albums, Side 1 is a bit more serene, but a beautiful track nonetheless. During the 1960s and ’70s, the Goodyear and Firestone tire companies peddled annual Christmas albums in their stores, usually for a dollar each, to customers who waited to get their tires changed or wheels aligned.
